Respecting the Land
Land Use Permits
There are private lands owned and protected by the Alutiiq people, through their Native Corporations. Land Use Permits are required for access to these lands. These are in place to keep our natural resources sustainable, protect archaeological dig sites, and keep accountability for future generations. The use of these lands are a privilege and require permits to be on them. Archaeological sites are still being discovered and learned about, it is illegal to vandalize or take any archeological finds. It is your responsibility to know the restrictions and locations of these land use permits and zones, and obey all Alaska Department Fish and Game laws.
